The hepatology institute will have 2 main tasks

  1. RESEARCH based on scientific and clinical excellence for the benefit of patients

  2. TRAINING future hepatologists and liver disease specialists

Attractiveness and training:

Responding to current and future challenges in hepatology by integrating scientific and clinical expertise, training young scientists and doctors, and attracting world-class talent to develop new diagnostic modalities and therapeutic solutions in collaboration with industry in order to transform the current paradigms of patient care.

Excellence:

To become an international reference centre for research and care in hepatology, enabling the rapid transfer of diagnostic and therapeutic innovations to clinical practice.

  1. Discoveries based on excellent fundamental and translational research
  2. Validation of concepts through cohort studies, clinical trials, and “big data” analysis
  3. Implementing care pathways involving networks of healthcare professionals and patients
  4. Assessing and optimising new care pathways
  5. Pharmaco-economic evaluation of new therapeutic and patient management concepts
  6. Integrating the human and social sciences to meet divers patient needs.
