The Lyon Hepatology Institute is made up of researchers, clinicians, engineers, technicians, nurses, students… They all share the desire to advance research in the field of liver diseases, for the benefit of patients.

If you want to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team at the cutting edge of technology, in order to advance the progress of hepatology research, join us!

The themes within the institute are multiple: biology, virology, oncology, metabolic, microbiology, biostatistics, tissue engineering, analytical chemistry, human and social sciences, health economics, etc.

Working at the Lyon Hepatology Institute means building tomorrow’s solutions together for a healthy liver!

We are looking for 2 engineers, 1 post-doctoral fellow and 1 technician !

Engineer in Biological Techniques

We are looking for two talented and dynamic engineers who will contribute to the pre-clinical development of novel therapies for viral liver diseases. Specifically, the persons recruited will be responsible for optimizing and validating protocols to study immuno-modulatory drugs as therapy against HBV/HDV. These experiments will be conducted with the use of in vitro and ex vivo infection models, as well as by the analysis of patient samples using state-of-the-art technologies. In addition, the engineers will be involved in the core tasks of the team, which include the isolation of primary human liver cells and the preparation of precision-cut liver slices (PCLS).

Post-doctoral fellow position

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoctoral fellow who will lead and exciting project investigatin the protein-protein and protein-DNA interactionq involved in HBV covalently closed circular (ccc)DNA formation and regulation in the cell nucleus.

Cell Culture Technician

We are looking for one talented and motivated technician who will be responsible of the routine cell culture activities of the team. The main role of the technician will be the isolation of primary human hepatocytes (PHH) from liver resections. The technician will work with a binome and will be in charge of the planification, organisation, cell plating and distribution. Morever, the person will have a central role in thawing cells and maintaining them in culture for our team, as well as working with HBV and HDV viruses (virus production – infection). Finally, the person recruited will be responsible for optimizing and validating protocols.
