Spatial multi-omics platform
The Spatial multi-omics platform of the Lyon Hepatology Institute, hosted at the Institute of Analytical Sciences, is dedicated to the multi-omics analysis of chronic liver pathologies. By combining proteomics, metabolomics and lipidomics, it offers an in-depth understanding of complex biological processes.
Bruker's timsTOF fleX MALDI-2 mass spectrometer, the only one of its kind in France
The platform features a state-of-the-art instrument, the only one of its kind in France: Bruker’s timsTOF fleX MALDI-2 mass spectrometer, which enables MALDI imaging analysis with unparallaled precision.
It is equipped with two lasers: one for ionization and the other for post-ionization, allowing for more in-depth analysis of samples with enhanced sensitivity.
Additionally, it offers the ability to perform analyses directly on cryogenically frozen tissue sections, enabling the in situ localization of biological compounds.
A key feature of this instrument is its ability to separate isomers prior to analysis, thanks to ion mobility. This enables higher resolution and more precise identification of biological components, even in complex samples.
The Spatial multi-omics platform at IHU EVEREST is a valuable resource for research in hepatology and beyond, offering advanced analysis capabilities and providing a deep understanding of biological processes at the molecular level.
